Illustration

Illustration

Our illustration style builds off the simple shapes of our logo and iconography. Clean lines with rounded corners give our illustrations a branded feel and make it easy to digest and understand at a glance. Color should always be skewed to our extended color palette outlined in our guidelines.

Principals

  • Express complex ideas through clear and simplified illustrations
  • Represent our brand through consistent use of line and stroke as well as color
  • Consideration given to gender, cultural and geographical diversity striving for inclusion and accessibility for all
  • Fun and lighthearted without feeling overly humorous or silly – charming and delightful

Styles

Glanbia Nutritionals utilizes a few illustration styles depending on subject matter. Regardless of style, we try to bring consistency through line work and color. When using stock illustration, adjust the forms whenever possible to deliver consistency with our other brand elements.

Line Illustrations

Our line illustrations are simple and mirror our Iconography style. They should convey simple ideas with pictogram logic where photography cannot communicate complex narratives or concepts. Line Illustrations are particularly suited for infographs and facility posters.

Shape-based Illustrations

When a deeper story is being expressed, the use of shape-based illustration is recommended. These applications should use flattened forms expressed through the use of solid colors. The use of gradients should be limited to tone on tone palettes and only utilized when the sense of depth cannot be expressed through simple shapes.
