Iconography

Iconography

The Glanbia Nutritionals iconography is a visual language to maximize comprehension and call attention to content or an action. Our icons are designed with our brand personality with simplified line work and round end caps. Primary iconography utilizes a distinctive yellow circle as a focal point, referencing to core construction of our Logomark.

Size

Our icons are constructed in various sizes for optimal legibility and consistent line weight to ensure readability and clarity. Our basic icons sizes are 24x24 px, 40x40 px, and 80x80 px. 24x24 icons will always have simplified forms when compared to the larger 40x40 and 80x80 icons.

Color

Product and primary icons use 1 color Glanbia Blue stroke. In addition, they use the distinctive yellow circle as a focal point. Marketing and secondary icons can make use of our broader color palette but should still follow similar construction methods.

Line & Stroke

The Glanbia Nutritionals icons utilize strokes over fills when possible. Icons should use a 2px stroke for consistency and visual weight. Corner and line joins should be rounded while corner radius should be optically adjusted for consistent negative space (interior shapes will have smaller radius than exterior shapes). A 1.5px stroke can be used where complex details are unavoidable and the negative space needs to be optically balanced. End caps should be rounded.

Grid

The pixel grid is the fundamental unit to align objects and strokes for consistency. Terminal ends, corners, and angles should snap to the nearest pixel. In some instances, optical adjustments away from the nearest pixel may be necessary to improve legibility.
